Emma Sanders has attempted to predict where each team will finish this season based on what we saw in 2022-23, each clubs business in the transfer window and how they have all performed in pre-season.

Four months have passed since theyclinched the crown in Mayand their traditional top-four rivals – Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City – will be hoping to break their stranglehold on the league title.

Will this season see anyone else break into that top four? And can newly-promoted Bristol City, the only non-Premier League owned club in the league, be able to compete at the top level?

West Ham v Sheff Utd (Sat, 15:00 BST)

Sheffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom on the importance of the club sticking together:

[Owner] Prince Abdullah was on the phone straight after the game, we speak regularly.

That [what happens at board level] is not my concern, my concern is this building and the unity.

We understand we need to be better. Weve seen teams suffer these defeats before and come back.

West Ham v Sheff Utd (Sat, 15:00 BST)

Sheffield United manager Paul Heckingbottom on bouncing back from the 8-0 loss against Newcastle:

We want it to be a one off and we need to take things from it.

There are things in there that can be big reminders. At times we were good and even in the first 20 or 25 minutes we had spells as the better team.

We know the margins are so fine and we know how well we have to play to get the wins, so we must be critical. Some things happened in the second half that we cant allow to happen again.

I was lucky enough to play at a football aid game at Anfield. We ran onto the pitch to warm up and the first ball I hit went into the top corner of the goal at the Kop end. My friends and family missed it as they were taking their seats and then we went and lost 6-1 which they did not miss.

West Ham v Sheff Utd (Sat, 15:00 BST)

Sheffield United have been really good out of possession this season and been so organised. It has been difficult for teams likeManchester CityandTottenhamto score against them.

That was why it was such a shock to the system againstNewcastle.

Maybe they just thought with it being at home they could have a go but they underestimated their task and got picked off in a big way. They tried to go toe to toe with them and left big holes. They got it drastically wrong.

You cant dwell on the result either although you have to understand why it happened.

Its about realising the detail of what youre up against and the concentration levels and details of how you train and apply it. They have been in games and had actually started the season quite well, only to not get results. This has really put them back.

At times, you will lose to top sides, predominantly Sheffield United will. So, its about how to get the results and get some wins. It is possible to lose to Newcastle and still find out where the good was.

From that game though, they could take nothing other than real disappointment.

West Ham v Sheff Utd (Sat, 15:00 BST)

Sheffield United manager Paul Heckingbottom has also arrived for his press conference.

Well bring you his thoughts shortly.

Everton manager Sean Dyche on why the clubs recent victories have come away from Goodison Park:

Scoring a goal, as simple as that. They are the fine lines of football. You have to score goals and we are beginning to see the team is capable – and that is a good sign.

Goodison has been great, the fans have been great. The cutting edge is beginning to come and long may that continue.

Its about continuing to build [a bond with the fans]. We want the fans to see a team that gives everything. Once you reinforce that with winning everyone believes more and that bond grows tighter.

Everton manager Sean Dyche on team news:

Nothing too major. Myko [Vitaliy Mykolenko] came off and we have to be careful with him.

There were a few knocks, but nothing too major.

School match and losing 7-0 I was totally fed up with my team, so got the ball on halfway line and just kept beating the opposing players one after the other, finished popping the ball through the keepers legs.

My sweetest strikes – 2 come to memory. Ones got to be in a park game I had my Stevie G top on and just at a point when my cousin took his phone out to record I hit the most Gerrard-esque strike from my own half which nestled neatly into the top corner. The second one was in a high school match when I lobbed the keeper from halfway- sweetest feeling seeing the looping ball evade his flailing hands to land sweetly into the net as I wheeled away in celebration.

Sean Dyche on whether this is the closest he has been to having an Everton team in his image:

We knew we would have to get a more balanced squad and I think we have done that well.

Generally the performances have been good and the last two games we have got our reward from that.

I have been pleased with the relentless attitude to keep working and I commend the players on that.

Its not easy when theres so much noise around the club. I have said to the players that we are the only ones who can change the story.

We have some very good players. At Everton you have to win, whatever tactics you play. We can all debate tactics. You can lose a game but the tactics were right – its the delivery of it.

Fenway Sports Group have outlined several areas where they will use the finances to help stabilise Liverpool for the future.

Pay down bank debt incurred during the COVID-19 pandemic

Capital expenses made to enhance Anfield

Acquisitions during the summer transfer window

We are honoured to partner with FSG and support the remarkable legacy of Liverpool in a strategic partnership that builds upon mutual respect and deep relationships among our respective teams, said Dynasty executive chairman Jonathan M. Nelson.

Dynastys chief executive officer, K. Don Cornwell, added: Liverpool is one of the most iconic football clubs in the world with a passionate fanbase and significant global reach. Dynasty is privileged to support the club and work alongside FSG to execute on the tremendous growth opportunities ahead.

Everton manager Sean Dyche on Luton Town:They are working very hard in games, they are structured and trying to ask questions of the opposition.

We certainly have to deliver a performance and we dont take anyone lightly, thats for sure.

It is difficult. Ive been down that road. It feels different, the beginning is exciting for everyone but if youre not getting those wins it feels difficult.

There are no easy games. You have to be ruthless. When the whistle blows we have to be ruthless, deliver a performance. Thats the reality of the Premier League.

Fenway Sports Group (FSG) have confirmed that global sports investment firm Dynasty Equity has completed a strategic common equity minority investment in Liverpool FC.

The investment is worth between $100-$200million (82m – 164m).

Our long-term commitment to Liverpool remains as strong as ever, said FSG president Mike Gordon. We have always said that if there is an investment partner that is right for Liverpool then we would pursue the opportunity to help ensure the clubs long-term financial resiliency and future growth.

We look forward to building upon the long-standing relationship with Dynasty to further strengthen the clubs financial position and sustain our ambitions for continued success on and off the pitch.

Everton manager Sean Dyche on Dominic Calvert-Lewin:Im pleased for him. He has dug in. He has looked sharper, we knew we were building him back into it.

For someone who has had hardly any football, playing games at this level, he has looked really sharp and done really well.

Strikers are there to score goals. They love it, we love it, the fans love it. but its a team mentality and we have been reinforcing that message to the group.

Everton manager Sean Dyche on achieving two wins in a week:Im pleased with the attitude of the players to keep performing. I dont think there were any grimaces.

We try to work in a way that bring consistency to what we do. Its small steps towards a bigger picture.

The number of changes to the game last night, and the open-mindedness of the group towards it, is a good sign.

Its been a positive week for Everton, who followed up a first Premier League victory with Carabao Cup progress last night.

Next up for Sean Dyches men is a key game against winless Luton Town as they aim to move away from the relegation spots.

Dyche is about to speak to the media.

Sheffield United have reportedly spoken to former manager Chris Wilder over the possibility of replacing Paul Heckingbottom. (Football Insider)

Heckingbottom led the Blades to promotion from the Championship last term but has struggled to get results in the Premier League, picking up just one point from six outings, while they were beaten 8-0 against Newcastle on Sunday.

Wilders previous stint in charge of Sheffield United came between 2016 and 2021 – finishing ninth in the Premier League in 2019-20.

That and more can be found inThursdays gossip column.

West Ham v Sheffield Utd (Sat, 15:00 BST)

Sundays 8-0 defeat at home to Newcastle has left Sheffield United rock-bottom of the Premier League standings.

Paul Heckingbottoms men have claimed just one point, courtesy of a 2-2 draw against Everton, and the manager is already under serious pressure.

They will be eager to show a positive response when they travel to West Ham, who have lost their last two games, albeit those fixtures were against Manchester City and Liverpool.

Sheffield Uniteds last win at the London Stadium came in 2005 when they two clubs met in the Championship.
